Daphne Unseld
Daphne Unseld was born in 1978 and received her first violin lessons at the age of seven with Dora Kobelt at the Glarus Music School. At sixteen, she was admitted as a young student to the class of Matthias Boegner at the Zurich Conservatory.
After one year she switched to viola and began her studies with Michel Rouilly at the Zurich University of Music. After completing her teaching diploma, she continued her training at the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands with Michael Kugel. Since 2002 she has been living as a freelance musician in Zurich.
Alongside her chamber music activities – with the piano quartet s-ensemble or in duo with pianist Babigna Masüger – she dedicates herself with passion to instrumental teaching, with a particular fondness for working with children. She is also in demand as a guest musician in various Swiss orchestras.
